I have two new and exciting projects to share with you today!
The first is that I’m working on a new book. More specifically a trilogy of books. These will be full-length science fiction novels, and I’m incredibly excited about them. Although, excitement at the beginning of a project is typical. If you ask me how I feel about it in six months and you’ll likely get another answer.
The second project is vaguely related to the first. I’m starting a Vlog documenting the process and progress of writing these books. If you’ve ever been curious to see my writing process or want to hear me explain the mechanics of storytelling, then you will enjoy these videos. The first video is up on YouTube already:
I’ll be updating the Vlog once a week at a minimum but hopefully more as I get quicker and better at editing videos and making more progress on the book.
Wait, what about Farren?
Don’t panic! I’m going to finish Farren’s story. It has grown from the original 4 part story I had planned for it, but I refuse to leave Farren stranded without his boulder. If you missed last week’s story here’s a link to Part 11 – Farren Starts an Unstoppable Fire. Or if you never got started Part 1 – Floating above a new world is always available.
I’m playing around with the idea of turning it into a novella and releasing it at the end of this year after sending it to some professional editors, but that’s too far in the future for me to tell. Right now I’m just trying to get to the end of the story.
What’s the new book about?
Zander is marked for deportation from the overpopulated moon base he lives in despite being a diligent worker. Now he must turn to his errant twin brother, who is living illegally on the hostile planet below, to keep from being removed from the only home he’s ever known.
I’ve based this story off of the first manuscript I wrote back in 2016 after returning from China. Initially, Zack and Zander were on Earth living in a tower, but the plot was broken, and the science concepts in it were unbelievable.
Despite the fact, the manuscript was a dumpster fire I’ve been coming back to the story a little bit every once in a while. Recently, while looking for a project for 2019, I thought that putting the twins on a moon around another planet would work better than a tower on Earth.
I’ll be explaining much more about the book in the Vlog so stay tuned! I hope the start of everyone’s 2019 is going smoothly.
